Flexure Research
High Performance Research
& Development Teams
Flexure Engineering’s
strategic approach provides Flexure Research with the
opportunity to partner with scientists and engineers from the public
and private sectors to create focused research teams.
These FlexTeams concentrate on repackaging and repurposing
an idea, concept, or research project into unique, potentially
commercially profitable spin-off products.
For example, while working on
the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST,) the Flexure team was required to
solve a unique problem taking laser radar measurements through a
chamber window. Our solution was sufficient to allow JWST to continue
testing and resulted in an award-winning paper. Flexure recognized the
opportunity to apply this technology to the advancement of future
telescopes and other equiptment that will be required in exploration of
the moon and beyond in coming decades. To exploit this
opportunity, Flexure created a FlexTeam of Flexure engineers and
consultants and submitted a winning NASA SBIR proposal. The team is
currently doing research research to develop
financially viable solutions that could be reused by other NASA,
government or commercial programs.
If you have an opportunity
you'd like to take advantage of, Flexure works with
scientists and engineers from private businesses, government agencies
and educational institutions to identify and acquire strategic business
development and funding opportunities.
